Build Secure Automations for Intune Managed Devices
Description:
In this session, we dig deep into the concepts of automation for cloud-managed devices, how to make sure communication between the device and backend is secure and is only coming from a trusted device in your organization. We'll share best practices on how to secure your automation in a cloud-first world when retrieving data from Intune or Azure AD in scripts running locally on the device and which Azure services to leverage to accommodate everything. If you manage Windows devices with Intune and have ever been in need of retrieving data from Intune or Azure AD or perhaps want to learn more about how you can securely send log data from your devices to Log Analytics, you don't want to miss out on this demo-heavy session.

What you will learn:
  • Learn what techniques to use when securing automation
  • Understand how Azure Functions and Conditional Access improves security
  • Ensure only trusted devices can communicate with your infrastructure

Automations to Brag About
Description:
Big Bank has built big and small automations. Come see which automations we are most proud of, what problems we had to overcome while building them, and what problems we've encountered when they were deployed.

Every automation we talk about will be open sourced so you can implement it in your own environments tomorrow!

Automations we'll demo and open source:
  • RunAs: How do we run code that needs to run as another user account?  What if we want to run as a gMSA and use no password? We have a module for that!
  • APE: Process enforcement to ensure no deployments happen in ConfigMgr without proper approval
  • Monitoring: A module that uses Pester tests to alert us if there's a problem in the environment
  • EFPosh: Turn PowerShell classes into database tables easily to quickly query databases, modify data, or even build from scratch!

What you will learn:
  • PowerShell tricks to process big data
  • SQL tricks to process big data
  • How to monitor an environment with Pester
  • What security challenges have we encountered
