Interactive PowerShell (GUIs and Web Services) for Heros

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Description:
"Oh Hero, can you export all the e-mail addresses of users belonging to this group? I heard you did it for Jim in accounting." It's not the first time you've received this quest, nor will it be the last. But these side quests are becoming quite rote and boring, couldn't the villagers just do it themselves? It's time to get out of the "hero" business and empower your co-workers to do repeatable tasks by themselves. This session will walk you through some ways to develop interactive tools in PowerShell.

What you will learn:
  • Learn the basics of GUI building in PowerShell with XAML
  • Learn some techniques to keep your GUIs responsive
  • Learn to build a PowerShell Web Service for your villagers to interact with (and why this might be a better choice)
  • Learn to add some dynamic magic to your PowerShell Web Service
